Why I Built ScotBot for Boat Buyers
Ask ScotBot the same question you would ask me on the phone. You do not need to know the terminology or be ready to apply. It can help explain the basics; bring your actual boat and financing decisions to me when you are ready.
Sometimes you just want to ask a question without starting an application. That is why I built ScotBot. Ask it in your own words, read a guide if you want more detail, and bring me into the conversation when you are ready.
Ask the question in your own words
You do not need lending terminology. Try “I found a boat from a private seller,” or “Why would more money down change my term?” The assistant can help connect the question to relevant educational material.
Know where the conversation changes
General guidance is not an approval, a rate commitment or an appraisal. The actual boat, borrower and lender program need to be reviewed. If the answer seems inconsistent or does not address your situation, bring it to me rather than treating it as a final decision.
Keep sensitive documents in the right place
Use the designated secure application or document channel for Social Security numbers, financial records and other sensitive information. A casual question does not need those details.
ScotBot should make it easier to have an informed conversation with us. It should not make you feel that you have to solve the whole loan on your own.
Have a boat in mind? Send me the listing through YourBoatMoney, or ask ScotBot to help you get started. You do not need every answer before we talk.
Educational information, not a loan offer or guarantee of approval. Requirements depend on the lender and transaction.
